#50BESTTALKS, THE FUTURE OF MEAT, AND A CHEF’S FEAST TO REMEMBER
This is the second consecutive year that Colombia is the host country for a 50 Best programme of events. William Drew, Group Editor of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, said: “After the success of our first event in Bogotá in 2017, we are very excited to return to Colombia’s culinary capital for a series of events that promise to be even bigger and better than before.”
On Monday 29 October, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants will hold the latest edition of #50BestTalks, a thought-leadership event where guest speakers –including Jefferson Rueda of A Casa do Porco, in São Paulo, and Leonor Espinosa of Leo, in Bogotá– will discuss the future of meat, vegetables and alternative proteins.
The evening of Monday 29 October will see the chefs enjoy a Colombian gastronomic experience at the traditional Chefs’ Feast, an exclusive party to celebrate the restaurants on the list.
The following day, 30 October will be the gala ceremony where a series of individual and special prizes will also be awarded including Best Pastry Chef, the Chef’s Choice Award, the Art of Hospitality Award, the Highest Climber Award, the Highest New Entry Award and a new category this year for the LATAM area: the Sustainable Restaurant Award. Finally, the Best Restaurant in Latin America Award will be presented, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.

LATIN AMERICA’S 50 BEST RESTAURANTS PAST WINNERS
Will last year’s winner Maido be able to maintain its top position this year? If not, who will take up the honourable spot of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurant?
Then there is Central, winner of the previous three consecutive editions from 2014-2016, who only just lost out last year coming in second. Will it get another shot at being top of the list?
