Young chefs are reminded that the application deadline for S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 is less than two weeks away, with applications closing on April 30, 2017.

This is a unique opportunity for young chefs to take part in a global competition where they will be able to showcase their signature dish on an international platform under the mentorship of some of the biggest names in the industry.

Who can apply for S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018?

Chefs de cuisine, chefs de partie, sous chefs and commis, aged 30 or under from around the world with at least one year of work experience are invited to apply, and applications will be accepted in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin Chinese. However, all candidates will be required to both understand and speak English, as it is the official language of the competition.

How can I apply for S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018?

In order to take part in the global talent search for the best young chef in the world, young talents must complete the online application here, where they are required to submit a recipe and photos of a "signature dish", basic personal information, a CV and answer a few questions like “What are your professional dreams for the future?” and “What would you like to express with your dish?”

How will applicants be selected to take part in this year’s competition?

In May 2017, each application will be evaluated by ALMA, Italy's International School of Gourmet Cooking, with up to 10 finalists being shortlisted from each of the 21 designated global regions enlisted in the competition. Those finalists will first compete in Local Competitions taking place in each respective region, where one finalist will be selected by the local jury to represent the region at the grand finale in Milan in the summer of 2018. It is on this global platform that 21 young chefs will face off in front of the Seven Sages, a panel of the world’s best chefs, who will be responsible for selecting the best young chef in the world.
