An intimate evening specially designed for line cooks.
S.Pellegrino Presents ‘On the Line’ is a series of one-off dinners designed to offer the hardworking line cooks of America’s restaurant industry a night off to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal crafted just for them.
The event was the idea of Ellia and Junghyun “JP” Park, from the Atomix restaurant in New York, who partnered with S.Pellegrino to make it happen. The Park’s hosted the first ever ‘On the Line’ dinner for around 50 line cooks back in 2021.
Since that first event, S.Pellegrino has hosted nine dinners across some of the best restaurants in America: Maty’s in Miami, Crown Shy in New York, and BOKA in Chicago.
Over 400 line cooks have been invited to take a night off and enjoy dinner on us. Creating the perfect community-building environment and showing some love for the cooks that are the foundation of the restaurant experiences we all enjoy.
“These are people who sometimes go unnoticed,” said Maty’s chef and owner, Valeria Chang. “When do they go out and just get treated? Get out of their chef clothes? I think it’s such an important perspective to do something for the cooks. It keeps us connected.”
‘On the Line’ was designed to show love and support for the often-overlooked heroes of hospitality. To raise awareness amongst the general population about professional obstacles facing those in the kitchen, and to offer the community of young and aspiring chefs a nurturing and supportive space.
With the resounding success and positive feedback from the industry, ‘On the Line’ will continue to create occasions to encourage cooks to step away from the line, take a night off, and join us at the table.
“On the Line is one of the most thoughtful ideas I’ve encountered from a brand,” said chef Jason Hammel from BOKA restaurant, “it shows just how much S.Pellegrino cares for our culinary community.”
