As the fine dining water enjoyed in the best restaurants in over 120 different countries, S.Pellegrino is committed to supporting new talent in the world of gastronomy. That's why, back in 2015, the brand decided to launch the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Competition.

The first four editions of this ambitious competition have attracted 10,000 young chefs from around the world, and involved hundreds of renowned senior chefs as jurors and mentors. The current edition embraced participants from a total of 50 countries, from the USA and France to Japan and Australia.

In the uncertain environment of 2020, S.Pellegrino is more convinced than ever of the power of gastronomy to drive social and environmental progress and, equally, of the importance of digital interaction to overcome the challenges of the future. Hence the decision to create the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy.

Maintaining the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Competition as its backbone, the Academy is a connected community where talented, passionate young chefs can interact with the most successful and influential figures in the world of gastronomy,  through education, mentoring and professional opportunities.

The Academy will benefit from the experience of some of the most prominent members of the global gastronomy community, starting from the 2021 Grand Jury members Enrico Bartolini, Manu Buffara, Andreas Caminada, Mauro Colagreco, Gavin Kaysen, Clare Smyth and Massimo Bottura. It will also be supported by a selection of prestigious partners, including Facebook, Google, Fondazione Altagamma and ALMA - the International School of Italian Cuisine.

Welcoming all past, present and future participants in the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Competition, the Academy opens its doors to members from over 70 different countries, ensuring that talent is not constrained by geography, ethnicity or gender.

Its goal is simple: to nurture the next generation of visionary talents who will drive responsible change in gastronomy worldwide.
