Food for Soul: Why Waste with Massimo Bottura | Sanpellegrino®
Read the article
In June 2021, S.Pellegrino joined forces with the cultural non-profit organisation Food for Soul to support their global mission to improve the health of our food system and reduce waste.
This partnership with Food for Soul now moves ahead with Why Waste? Season 2, a second series of videos showing how to make delicious meals from leftover food. Both seasons are from Fine Dining Lovers, the international digital platform supported by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. The new season launches on 29 September, to coincide with the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste established by United Nations.
Being part of Food for Soul’s diverse network of partners is one of the ways S.Pellegrino delivers on its commitment to promote a more responsible food culture by reducing food waste, reclaiming good taste, and ultimately enabling social change. At the heart of the partnership is a shared belief in the value of hospitality and in the power of taste and creativity to transform people’s lives for the better.
The new season of Why Waste? will provide more thought-provoking ideas for transforming leftovers into amazing meals. Presenting the series once again is multiple-Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, founder of Food for Soul along with Lara Gilmore. In this new season he enlists the help of chefs César Troisgros, Sat Bains, and Dominique Crenn, whom he challenges to create inspirational dishes using food waste in creative ways.
Season 2 will also involve the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, whose members have access to various courses and internships organised by Food for Soul. Some of these young chefs will engage with the Why Waste? project by sharing their own food waste recipes on Fine Dining Lovers.
