Opportunity, community and mentorship for the next generation of chefs.

At S.Pellegrino we believe it’s important that future leaders of the kitchen are provided support to showcase their work, receive insightful industry instruction, and develop their own unique voices as chefs, regardless of background, gender, or ethnicity.

As part of this belief, in 2015 we developed The S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy competition, a bi-annual event open to all professional chefs between the ages of 18 and 30. The competition is designed to help identify the best young chefs in the world, showcase their talent, and accelerate their professional development.

Those taking part in the competition have a chance to receive direct mentorship from industry luminaries and have their dishes sampled and critiqued by some of the world’s best chefs.

Previous winners have included Mark Moriarty from Ireland, Mitch Lienhard from America, and Nelson Freitas from Portugal.

All chefs involved with the competition gain access to The S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy’s full ecosystem of programming, an online hub packed full of resources for those starting their career in the restaurant industry, from guides on finding investors to inspirational talks on developing compassionate team leadership.

The S. Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition is designed to celebrate and champion the newcomers of the industry, and S.Pellegrino is proud to play a strong role in facilitating lasting mentorship between rising stars and star chefs.
