S.Pellegrino was proud to support another major event in global gastronomy on 23rd and 24th March: the European qualifying round of the Bocuse d'Or 2022. The two days of culinary dedication and competitive tension in Budapest, Hungary came to a climax with the announcement of the winning country: Denmark.

Teams from 17 European nations competed to create dishes on the theme of venison (saddle and leg) and duck liver, also working with sour cream and cottage cheese, all ingredients widely used in Hungarian cuisine.

The Gold medal winner was Brian Mark Hansen from Soelleroed Kro restaurant in Holte, Denmark, who wowed the jury with his interpretation.

Joining Denmark on the podium were Hungary, who took the silver medal, and Norway, awarded bronze. The list of European countries that qualified for next year's global final is completed by Sweden, Iceland, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Belgium.

Bocuse d'Or Europe President of Honour Ana Roš, whose restaurant Hisa Franko was awarded two Michelin stars in Slovenia's first Michelin guide selection last year, commented: "Bocuse d’Or has always been supporting young talent – very ambitious, motivated young people who want to show how beautiful this profession really is."

Now the European qualifiers can start preparing for the Bocuse d'Or final in Lyon in March 2023, where they will be joined by teams from Latin and North America and Asia.
