S.Pellegrino is very excited to announce its partnership with the Michelin Guide, which was realised at the start of March with the first ever Gastronotrends day in Brussels, Belgium. The event, created and organised by the Michelin Guide, gathered a group of 190 top starred chefs from around Europe to discuss the “future of food”.

Stefano Agostini, President & CEO, Sanpellegrino, who was present at Gastronotrends, explained: "This project was conceived two years ago and tonight we can make an initial positive assessment". He also described the approach taken by participants on the day: "The atmosphere was purposeful, the chefs showed a lot of interest and passion".

To facilitate the day, four experts from a wide variety of backgrounds – 'customer experience', 'digitisation,' 'the clash of cultures' and 'sustainability' – organised a series of challenging and thought provoking workshops for the chefs.

During the evening a very special new award created to highlight “next generation of chefs" was presented for the first time. The 2017 S.Pellegrino Michelin Young Chef Award for Europe was presented by Stefano Agostini to Motenfrolech Rastad and Christoffer Norton, of restaurant Domestic, located in Aarhus, Denmark.

"We received our first star two weeks ago and now this award ... it's fantastic!" said the recipients on the stage of EGG Brussels.

Stunning dishes were created for the evening event by Paolo Griffa, Shintaro Awa and Andrea Miacola, three former finalists from S.Pellegrino Young Chef, the worldwide young chef talent search, which is now taking applications for its third edition.

The 36th selection of the 2017 Michelin Main Cities of Europe guide was also announced during the day. The publication, which includes an impressive 2332 restaurants across 44 cities in 20 countries, serves as a handy all in one reference for food lovers travelling throughout Europe, particularly as it incorporates destinations like Poland and Hungary that don't yet have their own dedicated guide.
