S.PELLEGRINO’S ART & FOOD CONVERSATION

The prestigious celebration of the very best in global fine dining includes a series of events running from 16-20 June 2018 across the Basque region of Spain, to an international audience of industry professionals and food lovers.

The highlight of the week will certainly be ‘Food Meets Art’, presented inside the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, on June 18th ahead of the Ceremony.

A unique event dedicated to the greatest representatives of the gastronomy community, S.Pellegrino’s event promotes inspiration between different creative disciplines and introduces its latest Special Edition bottles ‘The Journey of Water’.

Lauded chefs Massimo Bottura and Alain Passard and one of Portugal’s leading contemporary artists Joana Vasconcelos, will step on stage accompanied by art curator and food expert Marta Arzak, along with a special contribution by world-renowned architect Giulio Cappellini, to draw links between diverse forms of creativity and the inspiration taken from different disciplines.

Food Meets Art’ will then continue with an exceptional gastronomic experience curated by Chef Josean Alija from Nerua restaurant (currently ranked No.56 in the world), who will creatively interpret ‘The Journey of Water’.

The Journey of Water’ was previously launched at Milan Design Week in April this year. This will be the first time it is revealed to the gastronomy community. It is a project that was coordinated by Giulio Cappellini, where three international design talents – Neri&Hu, Steven Haulenbeek and Philippe Nigro – took to interpret the iconic S.Pellegrino brand and created three different labels of the bottle, transforming it into a piece of design.

A WEEKLONG CELEBRATION: 16-20 JUNE EVENTS

With world-leading chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers, media and influencers present, the week of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants kicks off with #50BestTalks, a culinary thought-leadership conference exploring food developments, restaurant trends and chefs’ stories on 17 June.

A special art celebration at the world-famous Guggenheim Museum takes place on the morning of 18 June. This is followed by The Chefs’ Feast, with a traditional Basque asador (barbecue) in the beautiful countryside of the Atxondo Valley.

Not to forget about the 2016 winner, Osteria Francescana, of Massimo Bottura (2nd place, 2017) or 2015’s El Celler De Can Roca by the three Roca brothers in Girona, Spain (3rd place, 2017) who have managed to maintain their high rankings in the list so far.
