S.Pellegrino’s pop-up restaurant Live in Italian, Live from London arrives to the English capital for a culinary fusion of Italy-meets-Britain where two Michelin starred-chefs will create a three-course menu for the guests’ eating pleasure.
Here’s a preview of what you can expect on July 3rd and July 4th when Phil Howard, of The Square restaurant (2 Michelin stars), Italian chef Theo Randall, of Theo Randall at the Intercontinental, and up-and-coming Chef Chris Denney will come together for two days of fine dining experiences.
On July 3rd, English chef Phil Howard will offer all paying guests a dining experience that mirrors his culinary style: a use of ingredients based on a scientific background (the chef has a degree in microbiology), a focus on flavor and the delivery of pleasure rather than innovation. On the menu, the chef will offer a dish of hand-cut strozzapretti with pulled rabbit, tarragon and parmesan cheese, a pasta dish to acknowledge the Italian component of the event.
The second night of the event will have Italian chef Theo Randall cook a boned guinea fowl stuffed with prosciutto, mascarpone and thyme with English peas, among other dishes of his three-course meal. Randall was the head chef and partner of the Michelin Starred River Café before opening his first eponymous restaurant, which earned him the title of “Italian Restaurant of the Year” in 2008, and a rank on the Sunday Times Food List in 2013.
As for the lunches of both days, English Chef Christopher Denney, head chef of Covent Garden-based Italian restaurant Four to Eight, will offer a less formal dining experience, with Italian-style tapas, such as a deep-fried courgette flower with tomino cheese, grape must and beetroot ketchup with red shiso leaf. With an extensive experience in restaurants like David Thompson’s Nahm in Bangkok, Nuno Mendes’ Viajante in London, or Enrico Crippa’s Piazza Duomo in Alba, Denney is now offering his clients an exciting and innovating menu that incorporates modern Italian cuisine, which he perfected thanks to his team of Italian chefs.
