U.S. Semi-Finalists Revealed for S.Pellegrino® Young Chef 2018 Competition

The wait is over, the rigorous selection process is complete, and the names of 210 talented young chefs from around the world who will compete in the prestigious S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 competition can now be revealed.

The names of the up-and-coming young chefs who will compete in this year’s regional semi-finals for the U.S., along with details of their signature dishes, can be found here.

Each of the regional semi-finalists was carefully chosen by ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine, where their signature dishes were assessed according to the criteria: ingredients, skills, genius, beauty and message. (Read S.Pellegrino Young Chef rules)

The chosen chefs will now proceed to the regional semi-final phase of the worldwide talent competition, which will unfold in the coming months.

A total of 21 local competitions will be organized around the world, giving the young semi-finalists their first taste of fierce competition as they face off against their peers. As part of the competition, a panel of esteemed local chef judges will have chance to try their signature dishes.

The jury will make the final decision regarding which of the ten competitors is the best young chef capable of representing their region. Additionally, in order to help guide them on their culinary journey, a chef mentor will be assigned to each regional winner.

The last leg of the competition will be the opportunity to cook on the international stage of the S.Pellegrino® Young Chef 2018 Grand Finale in Milan, where a jury of renowned international chefs will crown the best young chef in the world.
