On 1 litre PET bottles of S.Pellegrino, you will now find a tethered cap, designed to stay attached to the bottle even after you open it. From 2024, the cap can be unscrewed and screwed back on exactly as before: the only difference is that it won't become separated from the bottle. This simplifies recycling and prevents plastic from being dispersed in the environment.
The introduction of the tethered cap is a legal requirement in the European Union established by EU Directive 2019/904. Under this directive, from 3 July 2024 it will no longer be possible to sell PET bottles with detached caps in Europe.
Traditional but timeless, S.Pellegrino’s premium glass bottles are used in the best restaurants, hotels and café around the world.
S.Pellegrino Essenza offers a sparkling experience crafted with the signature bubbles of S.Pellegrino mineral water and a drop of Mediterranean flavour.
