S.Pellegrino is very excited to announce its partnership with the Michelin Guide realised in early March at the first ever GastronoTrends day in Brussels, Belgium. The event, created and organised by the Michelin Guide, gathered a group of 190 top starred chefs from around Europe to discuss the “future of food”.

Stefano Agostini, President & CEO of Sanpellegrino, was present at GastronoTrends and explained: "This project was conceived two years ago, and tonight we can make an initial positive assessment". He also described the approach taken by participants on the day of the event and stated, "The atmosphere was purposeful, the chefs showed a lot of interest and passion".

To facilitate the day, four experts from a wide variety of backgrounds such as 'customer experience', 'digitisation,' 'the clash of cultures' and 'sustainability', organised a series of challenging and thought-provoking workshops for the chefs.

During the evening, a new noteworthy award created to highlight the “next generation of chefs" was presented for the first time. The 2017 S.Pellegrino Michelin Young Chef Award for Europe was presented by Stefano Agostini to Motenfrolech Rastad and Christoffer Norton of Restaurant Domestic, located in Aarhus, Denmark.

"We received our first star two weeks ago and now this award ... it's fantastic!" said the recipients while on the stage of the EGG Brussels.

Stunning dishes were created for the evening event by Paolo Griffa, Shintaro Awa and Andrea Miacola, three former finalists of S.Pellegrino Young Chef, the worldwide young chef talent search, now accepting applications for its third edition.

The 36th selection of the Michelin Main Cities of Europe Guide 2017 was also announced during the day. The publication, which includes an impressive 2,332 restaurants across 44 cities in 20 countries, serves as a convenient all-in-one reference for food lovers travelling throughout Europe, and even incorporates destinations like Poland and Hungary that do not yet have their own dedicated guides.
