Pomegranate and the many stories it has inspired

Read the article

The symbol of fertility and abundance, pomegranate was one of the fruits Moses allegedly found in the Promised Land, as well as having adorned the gardens of Babylon and the Pharaoh tombs. In Italy, this fruit also symbolizes purity and, during the Renaissance, it appeared in many works, the most famous of which is Sandro Botticelli's Madonna of the Pomegranate.

The pomegranate is a fascinating fruit with its leathery skin reflecting the colours of Autumn and protecting hundreds of sweet juicy seeds, which are perfect for giving an imaginative touch to a great many recipes. Its arils, in fact, are used as a cocktail ingredient, to give an original touch to a dish of meat, to transform a salad, to accompany a platter of cheese or make a dessert memorable.
